Child + Adolescent Services offered at OWPC

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can be helpful for teens struggling with their mental health. Your child will meet one-on-one with one of our friendly and experienced therapists to talk about any areas of concerns and learn coping skills to help them better manage their emotions and/or behaviours using approaches such as CBT, ACT, E/RP, and more!

Parenting Coaching

We know it can be really hard to see your child struggling and feel unsure of what to do! Research suggests that parent involvement improves outcomes for children struggling with anxiety, OCD, behavioural challenges/emotion regulation, and eating difficulties. In fact, in some cases parent-based approaches are more effective than individual work with a child/teen alone. Parent coaching can be helpful to:

  • parents of children/teens who may not yet be ready for or interested in therapy

  • parents who want to improve the parent-child relationship or better understand their child’s difficulties

Family-Based Treatment/Family Therapy

For some mental health difficulties, like paediatric eating disorders (anorexia, arfid), research suggests that family-based interventions are most helpful. In these meetings, one of our therapists would meet with your family all together to help your child work towards recovery.
