Therapies offered at OWPC
What types of therapy do you offer at OWPC?
There are SO many different types of therapy. At OWPC, we focus on evidence-based therapies (i.e., therapies that have been well researched and found to be effective in treating the intended mental health challenges). Click the boxes below to read more about each type of therapy.
What type of therapy do I need for anxiety and/or depression?
CBT and ACT are great for anxiety and depression! If your anxiety or mood related symptoms are related to past trauma, EFT or EMDR may also be helpful to you.
What type of therapy is best for kids?
The type of therapy that may benefit a child or teen depends on what they’re struggling with. E/RP, for example, is great for those struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder, whereas FBT would be the recommended treatment for a pediatric eating disorder.
EFFT is a transdiagnostic approach for parents that can help you learn how to better support your child in managing their emotions and reduce the use of maladaptive coping strategies. We often integrate this when working with children or teens.
Is online therapy effective?
Research suggests that online psychotherapy is as effective as therapy provided in person (Venturo-Conerly, K. E., et al., 2021; Fernandez et al., 2021).
