How much does Therapy/Assessment cost?
Private mental health services are not covered by OHIP, but may be reimbursed by extended health benefits/insurance depending on your plan.
Fees for therapy
Our therapist’s fees vary depending on their level of education, training, and experience.
Psychologists (PhD level) - range from $225 - $250/hour
Registered Social Worker (Master’s level) - $175/hour
Note: A standard therapy hour is 50-60 minutes. Our intake appointments tend to be longer (up to 90 minutes) to ensure there is enough time to really get to know you and make a plan and are billed accordingly (e.g., a 90 minute intake with a psychologist who has an hourly rate of $225 would be $337.50 and a 90 minute intake with a social worker would be $262.50)
Fees for psychodiagnostic assessments
Psychodiagnostic assessments vary in price depending on the amount of time it takes to complete it and are billed at the psychologist’s hourly rate. A general breakdown is as follows:
Clinical interview (1.5-2 hours)
Obtaining collateral information (if needed; e.g., interviewing teachers or reviewing report cards - 0.5 -1 hour)
Scoring and interpretation of psychometric questionnaires (1 hour)
Integrating all of the data obtained and preparing a written summary of the results of the assessment and/or completing any required forms (3-5 hours)
Feedback Appointment/Results session (1 hour)
The total cost for an assessment with a full report is usually 6-10 hours.
Senior Psychologist - $240.00/hour
full assessment with report = $1440-$2400
Psychologist - $225/hour
full assessment with report = $1350-$2250
NOTE: Because our assessments are conducted online, we cannot assess for learning disabilities or intellectual disabilities as these types of psychoeducational assessments require in-person testing. Our team also does not provide custody and access assessments, parenting capacity assessments, or adult ASD assessments.
