Online Parenting Support
Learn how to support your child with their mental health and behaviours
Many parents express a sense of worry and helplessness when they see their child struggling with Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Eating difficulties, Emotion Regulation, and other mental health/behaviour challenges. It can be hard to know how to support them or manage your own feelings of anxiety, frustration, or self-blame that arise while trying to help.
Although many children/teens benefit from one-on-one therapy with a therapist, we know that you, as their parents, are in the best position to support them given your connection and ability to be with them day-in and day-out.
Start working with an Experienced Parent Coach/Therapist
Our parent coaches/therapists will help you to…
better understand your child’s areas of difficulty
learn strategies to help your child manage big emotions
learn strategies to encourage positive behaviour change in your child
learn how to improve the parent-child relationship
We also know that your own feelings or blocks may come up along the way; we will support you in better understanding these emotions and how they may be impacting your parenting.
We also have therapists who are trained in eating disorders, if you’re specifically wanting parenting support to help a child/teen with eating difficulties.
At OWPC, we have a number of child-focused therapists with special training in parent-based approaches like Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), Parent-led Cogitive Behavioural Therapy (PL-CBT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and more!
