Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for teens and adults
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a well-researched form of psychotherapy that has been found to be effective in the treatment of anxiety, panic attacks, depression, perfectionism, and poor body image. In CBT, we look at the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and help people learn to identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour using strategies like exposure and cognitive restructuring.
How effective is virtual CBT?
A recent meta-analysis found that “online and offline CBT were equally effective for youth with depression and anxiety” (Howes et al., 2020). Similar results have been found for adults (Etzelmuller et al., 2020).
At the Ontario-wide Psychology Clinic, our team of warm and experienced therapists have years of experience providing CBT virtually and can provide handouts/worksheets to you via email or our secure messaging platform.
