Monika Dwivedi, PhD

NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.

Role at OWPC: Doctoral Clinician/Child and Adolescent Therapist

Hi! I’m Monika, a doctoral-level therapist working towards licensure in Ontario. I provide psychotherapy to adults with a range of mental health difficulties and have a particular interest in supporting those struggling with anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, ADHD, and depression.

Do you ever find that you over think situations or feel like your worries or lack of self-confidence hold you back? Maybe your anxiety, low mood, or feelings of inadequacy affect your relationships or work-life balance? It can be helpful to work with a therapist to regain your self-confidence and find strategies to manage those negative ‘voices’/thoughts.

What will our work together look like?

I use an integrative approach to meet clients’ needs, drawing from therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness.

I use empathy and kindness to build positive relationships with my clients to help facilitate our work together. In addition to English, I’m also able to provide services in Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, and Urdu.

What’s my experience?

I’m a compassionate and caring clinician with national and international experience, providing positive outcomes in education, sports, and medical settings. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Amity University, and provided assessment and therapy as Head of the Psychology Department at Aloha Clinics before moving to Canada. I also worked with frontline healthcare and workers and athletes as a psychologist at Tata Telecommunications (in Mumbai) and Euro T20 Slam (in Ireland), respectively.

Note: While I’m working towards licensure with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, I meet with Dr. Kelly An, C. Psych. regularly for supervision. As clients of supervisees are considered to be the clients of the supervising psychologist, my services are usually covered if you have coverage for psychological services/a psychologist, but it’s best to check with your insurance/benefits provider.
