Hi! I'm Dr. Kelly An, a Registered Psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, and interpersonal issues. I am passionate about helping others take control of their narratives and kick those negative voices to the curb.

Is this you?

Perhaps you're constantly feeling the pressure to be on top of everything and live up to the high expectations of yourself and others. Maybe you've felt unwanted in the past and can't bear to be rejected again. You may live to please others, tending to their needs in order to be liked or valued. Or maybe you feel damaged and broken and fear that others might get too close and see through you. You've been struggling with all this for a long time, blaming yourself for being unlikeable, dumb, or not good enough

What is my approach?

I help people like you who work extremely hard but never feel good enough; who give so much and yearn for others' validation; who expect so much of themselves and others and don't like the person they've become. I take a client-centred and humanistic approach in my work, tailoring our sessions to your unique individual needs. My approach draws from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches and is most strongly informed by cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). In our sessions together, I will also help you dig to the roots of your problems and cultivate greater awareness of the patterns and themes that repeat in your life.

 What is my experience?

I received my PhD at the University of Windsor and subsequently completed my predoctoral residency at the CPA-accredited London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium in 2019. I have also received training at several academic and teaching hospitals, including London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph's Health Care London, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care, and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. As a Clinical Neuropsychologist, I also conduct psychodiagnostic and neuropsychological assessments. I have been in private practice full-time since 2020.

Those who find my services most helpful struggle with:

  • Generalized and social anxiety

  • Low self-esteem

  • Perfectionism

  • Assertiveness

  • Burnout

  • Shame & guilt

  • Loneliness & feeling "different"

  • Grief, loss & life transitions

  • Complex trauma, childhood trauma & emotional neglect

  • Obsessive thoughts & compulsive behaviors

How will we work together?

In working with me, my goal is to make you feel deeply understood. I'll sit with you through your pain and grief, offering a safe, non-judgmental space to be heard. I'll be down there with you when you feel like hiding and start to help you explore those parts of yourself that's hard to face. You can expect me to be warm, compassionate, and deeply attuned to you during our sessions. At the same time, I will gently push and challenge you towards growth and change. Together, we will create meaningful goals and actionable steps to start living in a way that aligns with your values and help you find your voice and confidence.

I would be honored to accompany you on your journey, whether this is your first time contemplating therapy or have been on this journey countless times. If you feel like we may be a good fit, please feel free to connect with me or set-up an appointment.
