CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Hi there! I’m a Psychologist in Supervised Practice, working under the supervision of Dr. Felicia Chang, PhD, C. Psych.
I provide support and psychodiagnostics to children and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, self-harm (e.g., cutting), suicidal thoughts, OCD, and/or peer relationships. I also work with parents and caregivers who are wanting to learn ways to better support their child.
It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and uncertain at times as a parent, especially when supporting a loved one struggling with their mental health. Whether you notice changes in their behaviour, increased moodiness, anxiety holding them back, or withdrawal from friends or family members, knowing how to best support your loved one can be difficult and it can be helpful to have help.
What will our work together look like?
In working with youth and their families, I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). Treatment is always tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of my clients, and typically involves both individual work and parent involvement. I strive to create an environment in which my clients feel heard, understood, and appreciated.
What’s my experience?
I’ve provided assessments and therapy to youth in a variety of settings including the Halton District School Board, SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton and several private practices. I also completed my master’s and doctoral degree in the Clinical Child and Asolescent Psychology program at the University of Guelph.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family better!
Outside of working at OWPC, I enjoy long hikes with my two large dogs (Franklin and Kiera) and socializing with friends and family.
