Hi!  I’m Katelynn, a Registered Social Worker. Is this you?

Are you feeling overwhelmed or having trouble handling stress? Perhaps you’ve noticed yourself feeling anxious, depressed or withdrawn from others. There may be times when you feel lost, or stuck in a cycle you want to change, but don’t know how. At times, feelings of guilt or shame may keep you stuck in a pattern of avoidance or self-blame. This can make it seem like you have limited control over your emotions or lead you to engage in unhealthy behaviours (e.g., substance use), which may be causing friction in various area of your life. Or perhaps you fear judgement from others and think you’re not good enough, or unlovable, or unwanted. Carrying these burdens may have worn you down over time and you now feel that it’s time for a change.

What is my approach?

I’m here to help you deal with the stress in your life in a safe and non-judgemental way. I use a strength-based, trauma-informed lens that focuses on empowerment and growth. Maintaining autonomy in your recovery is crucial, which is why I utilize a client-centered approach that allows you to be the driver of your recovery, while I provide support and guidance. My integrative approach draws from several evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).

Using my experience and knowledge I’ll create an individualized intervention plan for you. This tailored approach will make our sessions be more personal and effective, illuminating a path towards a brighter future.
