Role at OWPC: Clinical Psychologist

Hello! I’m Dr. Dharna Patel, a Clinical Psychologist. I work with adults (ages 18-65) navigating a wide range of mental health challenges that are disrupting their daily lives and hindering their overall well-being. Through therapy and psychodiagnostic assessment, I help individuals gain insight, develop coping strategies, and reclaim their sense of purpose, balance, and quality of life.

Is This You?

Do you ever feel like life is moving faster than you can keep up with?

Maybe you're at a crossroads, unsure of your next step. Perhaps self-doubt, overthinking, or constant worry weigh you down, making it hard to find motivation or joy. Relationships may not feel as fulfilling as they once did, or the pressures of work and daily life leave you feeling drained. When emotions become overwhelming and you no longer recognize yourself, it can feel isolating—but you don’t have to navigate this alone.

Therapy offers a space to cut through the noise, gain clarity, and make meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and a renewed sense of direction—so you can move forward with confidence and purpose.

What is my approach?

I take a Person-Centered and Narrative-Based approach, fostering a safe and empathetic environment where individuals feel truly heard and supported. This space allows them to explore their experiences, build resilience, and work collaboratively to develop strategies that are in line with their core values and personal goals. By promoting self-awareness and growth, I help individuals cultivate healthier boundaries, navigate life's ups and downs with greater ease, and create a sense of balance that feels authentic to them.

Drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches, and Trauma-Informed Care, I develop a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and aspirations.

I offer services in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi.

What is my experience?

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco. Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience in diverse clinical settings, including community mental health and private practice, where I’ve provided therapy and assessments to adults facing a wide range of mental health concerns. My work has also encompassed crisis management, trauma-informed care, and helping individuals navigate significant life challenges.

In addition, I have led workshops on self-care, resilience, and the impact of stress on mental health and overall well-being, empowering individuals to cultivate healthier coping strategies and enhance their quality of life.
