Role at OWPC: Registered Social Worker/Clinical Therapist

Hi! I’m Victoria, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. I provide support to adults 18+ who are experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, chronic illness, grief, low self-esteem, major life transitions, and interpersonal relationship issues. I am dedicated to creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.

Is this you?

Are you finding yourself overwhelmed by persistent anxiety or depression, struggling to manage low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in a cycle of negative self-talk? Perhaps you’re navigating the challenges of a chronic illness and feeling its impact on your mental health and daily life. Or maybe you’re experiencing difficulties in your relationships, whether it's with a partner, family member, or friend, and you’re unsure how to address these issues. If any of these resonate with you, know that you are not alone. You can always soften into being again. No matter how long you might be stuck in a pattern of unhappiness, of being jaded, or of feeling guarded from the world in some way. There is always a path back. Give yourself a chance to find it.

What is my approach?

I employ a client-centred trauma-informed lens that focuses on understanding each individual’s unique experiences and challenges. I utilize a combination of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness practices, and strength-based strategies, to support clients in achieving their goals. I create a safe and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped to navigate their mental health journey.

What is my experience?

I obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, where I specialized in psychology. I completed my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. I currently work as a Social Worker at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in the Nephrology Program, where I provide support to patients living with chronic kidney disease.

I have experience working with patients and their families in a variety of hospital-based settings, such as the Hospital for Sick Children, Trillium Health Partners, and the University Health Network.

I have completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), palliative care and grief, as well as mindfulness meditation. Throughout my career, I have worked in psychology research labs and have published in scientific journals. My work aims to improve the mental health and well-being of individuals through the application of evidence-based strategies tailored to meet their unique needs.
