Charlotte Schwass, MSW, RSW
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.
Hi! I’m Charlotte, a Registered Social Worker who works with young adults (up to 29 years old).
Is this you?
Are you finding yourself consumed by worry and feeling overwhelmed by anxiety in everyday situations? Past experiences of trauma continue to cast a shadow over your life, influencing how you navigate the present. Major life changes or relationship challenges may leave you feeling lost and disconnected from who you are and uncertain about how to navigate or resolve these conflicts. If these thoughts and feelings resonate with you, know that you’re not alone. Many people face similar challenges.
I’m here to support you as you explore these feelings in a safe and compassionate environment. Together, we can work through the complexities of anxiety, depression, and perfectionism, identifying patterns that hold you back and develop practical strategies for growth and healing. You deserve to feel empowered and fulfilled, and I’m committed to supporting you on your journey to a more balanced and rewarding life.
What is my approach?
As a social worker, I employ a client-centered, trauma-informed lens to understand your unique experiences and challenges. I integrate evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness practices, and strength-based strategies, to support you in achieving your goals. Everyone faces challenges that can be difficult to navigate alone. Together, we can unravel these complexities and work towards a more fulfilling and joyful life. I am committed to providing a warm and empathetic environment where you can safely explore the struggles you are currently experiencing.
What is my experience?
I received my Master of Social Work from Western University, King’s University College and have gained extensive experience in various settings. My training includes therapeutic work with children and adolescents with a focus on trauma, mental health, and resilience-building. I also have a Master of Education, where my practical and research experiences focused on mental health programming within Ontario classrooms and supporting students experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences.
I have worked with several modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), strengths based approaches, and trauma-informed care. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in child welfare, crisis support, and research-based roles, including presenting at national and international conferences. My work is dedicated to improving the mental health of children and youth, supporting those involved with Children’s Aid Societies and in need of protection, and advancing understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma.
