Role at OWPC: Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Hi! I’m Ash (they/them), a Registered Social Work/Psychotherapist. I support couples by providing a neutral, judgement free, supportive place to explore and navigate some of the challenging issues coming up in your relationship. We will work together to break unhelpful cycles in the relationship and improve communication, intimacy, connection, and trust.
Is this you?
Do you find it challenging to feel heard or express your emotions and needs when in a disagreement?
Do you find yourself having the same or similar argument? Maybe over a different topic but similar themes or patterns keep coming up?
Are you noticing feeling more disconnected, emotionally, physically, or just in general due to the hectic nature of daily life?
Do you notice any patterns where you or your partner withdraws, shuts down, or becomes defensive when navigating a stressor? Or intense emotions escalate, where you both may say or do things that aren’t aligned with how you want to show up for each other?
Do you have a challenging time letting go of past concerns in the relationship and moving forward together?
Are you potentially looking for a space to explore if this relationship is right for the both of you?
How will we work together?
These concerns come up all the time in relationships, and that’s okay!
I support couples in strengthening their emotional bond, which has a positive impact on improving communication, intimacy, and deepening your connection.
We will explore the unhelpful patterns that are keeping you stuck and resulting in a space of not feeling heard, supported, or potentially unfulfilled in the relationship.
We will work together to build a space of openness, vulnerability, and connection, where you can work through some of the tough issues coming up in your day to day.
I also support couples in resolving emotional injuries such as breaks in trust and navigating stressors/conflicts connected to work, finances, and general life.
We can also work together on balancing individual and couple needs/expectations in the relationship.
Intimacy and sexual connection are so important and sometimes the work focuses on exploring sex and sexuality in the relationship.
Together we can explore ways to foster connection, understanding, trust, shared meaning/ goals in life as well as effective communication and conflict management skills to support the life you both want to share together.
