Role at OWPC: Registered Social Worker/Clinical Therapist

Hi! I'm Alannah, a Registered Social Worker supporting adolescents 12+ and young adults (i.e., up to 25 years old).

My approach is deeply rooted in providing personalized counselling that serves as a guiding light for young individuals navigating anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, thoughts of self-harm and the pressures of everyday life.

In our therapeutic journey, my utmost dedication lies in nurturing autonomy and fostering a collaborative space. With an individualized, client-centered approach, I draw from evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, Collaborative Assessment Management of Suicidality, and ACT.

I completed my Master of Social Work at King's University College and hold an undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Brock University. My professional journey encompasses various roles focused on youth and families, including working at an Indigenous School Board in Thunder Bay, Ontario, as well as both inpatient and outpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health units in Thunder Bay and Hamilton, Ontario.

I approach my work with patience and dedication, working diligently to establish trust with clients and families, thereby creating a therapeutic relationship. Ensuring an inclusive, welcoming, and non-judgmental space is of utmost importance to me, as I build the foundation of trust necessary to guide our collaborative efforts.

Outside of my work with OWPC, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping, paddle boarding, attending stand-up comedy shows, and traveling.

If you have questions about my approach or want to assess whether I am the right fit for you and your family, I am happy to have a free 15-minute telephone consultation. If you’re ready to dive in, utilize the button below for scheduling. I look forward to meerting you!
